This Week...
...we went to Seattle for Spring Break. It was so fun to be in Seattle having so many new experiences with the kids. Aunt Cherice and Aunt Shelly were our experienced guides. Our main destination was the Aquarium.
We decided to brave Pike Street Market. This wasn't on Jason's initial list of things to do in Seattle, but we figured we had to do it since we would be there.
I finally get my chance at a gum wall picture and it's blurry! Oh well! I'll take what I can get. you never know when we'll make it back.
I rarely get flowers from my hubby. If I want flowers, I am usually buying them for myself. But he just couldn't pass these beauties up. And they are beautiful!
We stopped in at the hotel to check in. Of course, the kids wanted to swim. We were good parents and decided to let them. Shelly was a good Aunt and actually swam with them. The pool room was a sauna for those of us sitting on the side. Ugh!
We got coupons for free milkshakes to the Lunchbox Laboratory restaurant and decided to go there for dinner. Jason looked it up and told us that it wasn't that far to walk. Well, it was a good walk, let me tell you! The walk over wasn't so bad, but we had to constantly boost morale on the walk back to the hotel. We certainly saw a lot of the "city."
The restaurant was a fun, new experience. They had Wiki Stix for each of the kids to play with. We were so full that we weren't able to finish the eight milkshakes that we ordered. It was awesome to try all the different flavors though.
We went to the Space Needle the next morning. We didn't make the trip to the top because I've got a couple kids (and me) that don't do well with heights. Maybe we can take that elevator to the top when they're older. It was fun to walk around it and enjoy the parks nearby.
We stopped in Ellensburg on our way home, Wild Cat Country! We wanted to get some new alumni gear.
We kept ourselves properly stretched on the ride over to Seattle. One of the gas stations we stopped at had this nifty stretch chart for us to follow as we waited for the bathroom.
...we cleaned out our neighbor's landscaping rock. Technically, it should have been our builder's responsibility to clean up his rock. So much sand was pushed into his landscaping when our house was built and no barrier had been put up. We felt so bad about all the sand in Jerry's rock, that we got out there, scooped it all up, filtered/washed out the dirt, and put the rock back down. It wasn't the greatest job, but we're glad we did it.
This is all the dirt that we cleaned out of the rock. Crazy, huh?!
...we went to a birthday celebration for our friend Erik. Jason and Erik have become good buddies. Erik really likes Jason and will call him all the time for help. Jason is good to Erik; he tries to make it over for whatever he needs - cleaning out his razor, setting their clocks back, changing out batteries in their smoke alarms, fixing the TV, etc.
...we made a trip to Lowe's. It seems like we're always making trips to Lowe's. ;) While I was waiting for Jason in the car, I was amazed by a customer and his choice of parking. He pulled his truck right up to the front doors of the store, blocking the entrance to the store. I couldn't believe it.
...we played some volleyball in the backyard. We put Emma's Christmas gift to good use! The kids really enjoy playing badminton as well.
