Lainey's Lost Nail

Lainey got her finger slammed in the door. I don't even remember it happening, but I know it did because her nail pealed completely up and then fell off. Here's the lovely finger now.

Monopoly in the Morning on Monday

The kids found our Monopoly game in the move and were just dying to try it. We hadn't even taken anything out of the packaging since receiving it as a wedding gift; the kids got to do the honors. They pulled it out and were trying to play it on their own. When I heard them say, "We don't have enough money to buy anything," I knew they needed me to play banker. We spent the better part of the morning playing Monopoly. They were in heaven...and it was pretty entertaining for me as well.

Paul ended up with all four railroads (here he only has three) and Emma was so bummed that she had to hand over $200 every time she landed on one.

Benjamin was enthralled with all of the other game pieces. I checked his pockets before we put the game away to make sure he didn't try to hide them away.

Rocket Girl

A real, live Hawaiian Luau

We went back to Emma's school today for the first grade luau. Emma has been singing the songs for quite a while and giving me previews of all the motions. They put on their production and then we got to go back to Emma's classroom with her teacher. We were able to take all of Emma's things since she won't be there at the end of the year.

Above is a picture of Emma with her teacher Ms. Titchenal and her reading teacher Mrs. Tovar. They were really great for Emma. I was appreciative of all their work and effort with Emma over the past year.

Mud and Sprinklers

I know that I shouldn't have to write that my children love to play in the dirt. And I shouldn't be surprised or exasperated that they are constantly escaping the house to dig in the dirt, turn on the water, and make mud. But that's exactly what happens. We're really upping our grass install timetable. They were swimming in the mud hole today, so we let them run through the sprinklers to wash off.
