Week #14: There's No Snack Like A Pizza Snack

This Week...

...we went for a walk with Grandma...and Marty. Rarely can we get the kids to just walk with us anymore. They take their scooters or wear their roller blades.

...we finished watching conference. I love Conference time of year. I'm so glad it comes around twice. I love listening, taking notes, and applying what I hear and feel. I am so thankful for a Living Prophets and Apostles, as well as other general church leaders, that guide and counsel us.

"I implore each of us to prayerfully study and ponder the Book of Mormon each day." –President Thomas S. Monson #LDS #LDSconf #quotes:

"We will never give up, remembering that those who are hardest to love need love the most." –Elder S. Mark Palmer #LDSconf #LDS #quotes:

...we went to my mom's for part of Spring Break. I worked in the yard. Cherice came out and helped me rake and clean up debris. The kids played with Keaton and Rylan. Emma and Trenton brought load after load of bark to distribute around the garden. We got a lot of cleaning done. We played electronic monopoly. Cherice was converted to how much fun it is. The kiddos played Sheriff of Nottingham together, which was nice because then we didn't have to play it with them. They also spent a lot of time out on the trampoline.

...we went over to Kent and Julie's house to play with cousins. I didn't really feel bad inviting ourselves over to their house. Haha! Jason was sleeping because of night shift and so we got out of the house. You'd think that we get together with Kent and Julie and their kids quite often because we live so close, alas that is not always the case.

...we went to Palouse Falls. We also took Marty. I wasn't too happy at first, but he did very well. I was not thrilled with getting too close to the edge. Jason and the kids had no trouble with that. They crept right up close to look over at the falls. I stood back and inched forward. The kids would run back and forth on the paths. I would caution them to be careful.

"Emma! Stay back!"

...we went out for another walk. We like walks, and Marty likes walks. The blossoms on the trees were spectacular. We walked up and down Madison Avenue. There's a certain spot along the way where Marty rolls in the grass. It's the same spot every time. He sniffs it out and then rolls in it. Lainey wore her roller blades. Her and Benjamin were ready to head home before we were done with the walk. I caught this cute picture of Benjamin helping Lainey across the street. We have good kids!

...we went back to Kent and Julie's for ice cream and brownies. Yum! The kids played outside and we visited inside. It was the perfect party!

...we went to the Easter Breakfast and egg hunt at the church. The kids had a most wonderful time collecting eggs. I was visiting and didn't even go check on them. The eggs were set out in the primary room because the weather wasn't too good. The kids walked away with a ton of eggs and candy.

Week #13: An Early Piano Recital

This Week...

...the kids had their piano recital. It was a little early this year because our piano teacher is going on a mission with her husband to work in the Nauvoo Temple. We are so excited for her, but so sad to see her go. (Sister Hall pictured below with her daughter Emily Spurgeon)

...Marty loves to lay out in the sun. He usually rolls around a bit in the grass, probably to get that hard to reach itch, and then he stretches out for a nap.

...Jason and Emma played catch. Now that Emma has started softball at school, Jason throws with her all the time. I get out and throw with her too, but Jason probably does it more. When we got Emma a glove, we got Jason a glove too. He isn't a big fan of baseball, but he loves getting out in the backyard with Emma. Come to find out, Emma has quite the throwing arm. Initially, when Jason and I tried to get Emma to try out for softball, she didn't want to do it. One of her P.E. teachers, Mr. Whitehead, coaches the 8th grade team. He told me that he would talk to her and I told him to go for it. When she came home from school that day, she was ready to play softball. Oh yeah!

...Claire was sneaking around behind the couch. I decided to catch her on the other side.

...This is one of my favorite quotes from President Hinckley. I am so excited that we get to study his teachings this year in Relief Society. When I read through each lesson, it's like hearing the words of an old friend.

...Lainey made a rain forest terrarium in her class. One morning, the parents were invited in to the library to see them on display. She was so excited to show it off.

...I said yes to Lainey playing with fabric. She asked Claire to help her and they ended up playing for hours. They could use any of the fabric in the box and create whatever their little minds could envision.

...I captured this outside a little Asian market where I like to buy Hello Panda treats. It struck me as having a story.

...we went to Lainy's bridal shower. In just over a month, she will be married to my nephew Austin! So exciting! She has a lot of support from both sides. It was fun to gather to support her as she and Austin take this next step in their life together.

...we watched Conference! It was so good! Mom, Cherice, and Shelly were with us for the weekend. We had our bingo bowls ready and note paper out to catch all the wonderful messages of faith and inspiration.
