This Week...
...Jason and I went to my mom's to work at her house. We loaded up the van to haul things off for her that she doesn't need anymore. Jason fixed a light bulb we thought was broken just by screwing in a new bulb. It was so funny! Before we left, Jason coxaed Licorice into the laundry room to rest for a bit because it was so cold. My mom allowed it at the time, but my sister Cherice put Licorice outside first thing when she got home from school.
The kids drew pictures for Grandma and Grandpa Zirker as a thank you for them taking us out to McDonald's. Emma's was really cute.
The Bishop was a good sport. He came in to try some of the games. The kids really loved having him try the games.
I said Jason manned the snack table, but he also did a lot of chatting. Our friends Stephen and Tristin Schab came with their daughter Danica. Royce came in during a break in Bishopric meetings to check things out. Mike Votaw came and hung out while his wife, Kuniko, helped the boys.
...we had the greatest lesson on Elder M. Russell Ballard's talk, God is at the Helm. Amy Buchanan taught the lesson and she did such a good job. He talks about staying on the good Ship Zion.
...we sang this beautiful song and then discussed it's meaning and application for Family Home Evening. It was a great discussion. We talked about our divine traits and roles as boys and girls, men and women. I was able to bear testimony that we are born a boy or a girl because that is who we are meant to be.
...we got snow! When it snows, you have to go out and play. And of course, the neighbors have to come over. Eli and Afton came to build a fort...or a snowman. Two hour delay and the kids are in heaven.
...Lainey's Kindergarten class had a Thanksgiving feast. She loved the pumpkin pie.
...we got our room figured out. I wanted to make sure the room looked finished for when we start showing the house. We've been here for three years and I haven't taken the time to work on the master bedroom. I think we finally found a look and feel that fits the peace and calm I want in my bedroom.
...our neighbors, Jessie and Darryl gave us a neighbor gift. It was so thoughtful of them. "Neighbors for a Thyme, often offering sage advice, here's some rosemary for remembrance. Good friends are hard to find."
...the book fair was delivered to the school. Good times! Enter a week of living working at the school. I can't wait to see what books are on the shelves!
...Paul and Claire had dentist appointments. It's always a party at the dentist because we get to see Amber. Ok, it's always a party until Claire freaks out and won't cooperate.
...we celebrated Thanksgiving in Mattawa. Get in line! I'm so thankful for these times of coming together as family; to laugh, to visit, to be a part of each other's lives.

It warmed my heart to see them check out the Grandkid Luncheon pictures down the hall.

...I got to go on a Black Friday ride along. That's the best way to do Black Friday.
...I love photos like these. The red berries with white snow on top reminds me of the scripture in Isaiah (1:18) that states: "Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow."
...Jason and I went to a wedding reception for the daughter of one of the detectives he works with. It was Kevin McCary's daughter. Great man, great family. We drove out to the church building in the Basin with Justin Gerry (BC Detective) and his wife Jo. Diane McCants did the wedding cake and Shelly Olson, both from the office, came to help. It was so great to see these fine ladies and talk with them. The cake turned out so beautifully.
A few touches I liked that really added to to the ambiance.
