Our canopy died

We had just used it to shade our canning efforts.
It helped so much.

We left it out and the winds came
and carried it up, up and away!

I'm sad!

Peach Party: Canning Style

Before the real work started.
The happy helpers.

Beautiful.

Tim and Jason kept track of the
blanching and water baths

Haley, Mom E, and I worked on
peeling, slicing, and filling jars. As you
can see, we had a lot of little helpers.

Claire, Ben, and Athen
had fun in the mud.

43+ jars.
A Good Day.

Back to School with Pizza Hut

The kids completed their summer reading program through the Mid Columbia Library system. They got a free personal pan pizza coupon for Pizza Hut. We invited Grandma Z, Aunt Cherice, Aunt Shelly, Uncle Kent, Aunt Julie, and cousins and turned it into our back to school celebration.

Ben, Ethan, Paul

Emma and Jenna

Darn, I didn't get any photos of the delicious pizza.
It was good, believe me.

Peaches, Popsicles, Pop, and Popcorn

We took a field trip out to Royal to get some of THE best peaches ever from Verhey Farms.

They let the kids sit on the four wheeler.
Lainey thought that was great.

Their school had a back to school night and served popsicles, pop, and popcorn. It was hot, but they had a good time. We met their teachers and saw where their classrooms would be.

Waiting

Our friends Amber, Dane, Taya, and Paxton, from Ellensburg, are back in the area. Yee-haw! Ben and Claire were so excited for them to come over that they went out to the curb to wait.

Playing in the drawers

Lainey has figured out the drawers in our house. She loves to take out all of the wash clothes and hand towels in the kitchen, upstairs bathroom, and master bathroom. It's so funny to watch. She'll walk around with great gobs of towels in her arms or lay them out one by one on the floor. She was running back and forth across the room putting my Be blocks in the towel drawer.

Sharing Zucchini Bread

Our neighbors behind us, Earl and Geri, have been sharing zucchini with us. What better way to use up excess zucchini than to make zucchini bread (with chocolate chips of course). So we shared some of the bread with them.

...they are so good to me.

Second day reunion, not to be outdone by the first.

After a full round of breakfast, we played some minute-to-win-it type games. Of course Chubby Bunny was among them. Dad E, Wade, (Jason's oldest brother), and Jason did very well, cramming more than ten in their mouths. Paul emerged as a promising star. He blew the kids out of the water with at least seven. I couldn't believe it.

I know Emma won't be too thrilled with me sharing
this, but look at that saliva. This is a perfect
example of the craziness of Chubby Bunny.

::Playing the m&m game ::

:: Mom and Dad E ::

Most everyone played.
I think they just wanted to eat
them when they were done. :)

on the m&m's. No, he didn't win.

Paul's was looking really good, but
he didn't understand the no hands part.

Cousin Payton was eating her penne pasta
and sad that her spaghetti noodle broke.

We took a jaunt to the splash park,

They loved squirting their dad.

He wasn't too sure about the water.
